What To Serve As The Main Course For Your Dinner Party

Choosing the best meal to serve as a main dish for a dinner party, is often a dilemma. Hosts and hostesses want to ensure that they do not serve food, which the guests have an allergic reaction, and in dealing with different cultures, they want to ensure that food is not insulting. For example, you would not be considered pork to a meal, where some of your guests practiced the Islamic religion. You would not roast beef or chicken, if you know that some of your guestsvegetarian.

Fish is a dish that always goes over well at dinner parties. Try a fish dish that is not widely used, such as halibut. The dinner party, which earned me the best compliment was one on which I served for a recipe called Snappy Halibut Skillet. Along with being easy to produce, it is very tasty. There are many variations on this recipe, but those who consider my family and guests are as follows. You have to increase the recipe for the required number of guests. This is based ona dinner for 10 people.

Ingredients

1 1 / 2 tsp. Thyme

2 1 / 2 lb halibut (with 1 / 2 pound per serving)

1 1 / 2 tablespoons olive oil

1 chopped onion into small pieces

1 clove garlic, minced

1 1 / 2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 can of stewed tomatoes

1 / 2 cup green onions

Sprinkle thyme on both sides of each halibut fillet and cook over medium heat in hot oil. Try the fish to see if it flakes easily pierce with a fork. This will tell you that itis fried. Remove the fish on a heat plate.

Using the same pan, cook garlic and onions until they are soft. Stirring, pour the cornstarch into the stewed tomatoes and then the mixture into the pan. Cook until thickened. Put the fish into the pan and let it from the heat with the sauce.
